in the bubbleline

    NEW ZEALAND SOUTHLAND

Our trip this year had mixed results.  The rivers were in great condition but the trout were less than co-operative.  Insect hatches were scarce as were the rising fish.  Willow grub feeders were not as obvious and were easily spooked.  In fact we found fish even spooked from a perfectly drifted fly!.  Too many false casts, a heaver foot tread or even the wrong fly selection caused bow waves in the direction of deeper water or tree root cover.

When we did net a fish -the new GoPro Dome produced some great release pictures.

Our Projects

The more remote the location the better we like it!  An isolated mountain gorge, a tumbling pocket water stream, filled with fit and eager brown and rainbow trout rising inthebubbleline to our dry flies.  This is our studio.
