in the bubbleline

This delightful little high country waterway starts its journey at around 1600m above sea level and tumbles through some picturesque gorges during its 22km journey to join the Swampy Plains River.

Early in the season it's always worth a day of careful prospecting with dry flies in the runs, riffles and pools.

There are a host of small browns and rainbows who are always willing to rise to a drag free drift but on our last outing Chris had a beautiful 3lb brown sip his small emerger from the surface of a deep pool.

We just happened to be equipped to record the event and put together the short video below so that everyone can share the occasion.

The more remote the location the better we like it!  An isolated mountain gorge, a tumbling pocket water stream, filled with fit and eager brown and rainbow trout rising inthebubbleline to our dry flies.  This is our studio.
